Motorists accused of DWI

The following motorists are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

Dale R. Johnston, 54, of Chateaugay, was charged by state police on Friday with a felony count of aggravated driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.

Troopers allege that at 5:59 p.m. on North Raquette River Road in Massena, Mr. Johnston made an unsafe lane change following a traffic stop.

Mr. Johnston was issued a ticket for alleged unsafe lane change. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.20 percent, troopers said.

A BAC of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication under state law. The charge is elevated to aggravated DWI when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

Christopher R. Lefrancois, 42, of Massena, was charged by state police on Saturday with aggravated DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana and consumption of alcohol in a vehicle on a public highway.

Troopers said they stopped him at 12:35 a.m. on South Raquette River Road in Massena.

He had a BAC of 0.29 percent, they said.

Wyatt S. Ramsdell, 22, of Winthrop, was charged by state police on Friday with aggravated DWI.

Troopers responding to a domestic dispute complaint allege that at 10:14 p.m. on Quinnell Road in the town of Massena, Mr. Ramsdell failed to use the designated lane and unsafely moved a stopped vehicle.

Mr. Ramsdell had a BAC of 0.20 percent, they said.

Mr. Ramsdell was issued a ticket for alleged failure to use the designated lane and unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle.

Jed S. Hatcher, 35, of Lowville, was charged by Lowville village police Saturday after police said they received a report of a suspicious vehicle stopped in the village.

State police on Saturday charged Allan J. Martin, 47, of Chase Mills, with aggravated DWI.

Troopers allege that around 10:35 p.m. on Rookey Road in the town of Waddington, Mr. Martin had a BAC of 0.18 percent following a traffic stop.

He was ticketed with operation of a vehicle with inadequate plate lamps.

State police on Saturday charged Heather L. Richardson, 49, of Madrid.

Troopers allege that at 6:36 p.m. on County Route 44 in the town of Madrid, Ms. Richardson made an unsafe pass on the left and an unsafe turn and had a BAC of 0.10 percent.

She was ticketed with unsafe passing on the left and making an unsafe turn following a traffic stop.

State police on Saturday also charged Lloyd J. Wood, 49, of Massena, with refusal to take a breath test.

Troopers allege that at 10:13 p.m. on Route 37 in the town of Massena, Mr. Wood had a driver side headlight out.

He was ticketed with an equipment violation for inadequate lights following a traffic stop.

Potsdam village police on Saturday charged Peter J. Atkinson, 26, of Potsdam, with failure to keep right and aggravated DWI.

Police allege that at 2:51 a.m. on Clarkson Avenue in the town of Potsdam, Mr. Atkinson passed over the solid yellow centerline into the oncoming lane. Mr. Atkinson had a BAC of 0.26 percent, they said.
