LOWVILLE- Olive I. Schack, 89, formerly of High Falls Apartments, Lyons Falls, died Wednesday morning, August 27, 2014 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.
The funeral will be Friday, August 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Iseneker Funeral home, Inc., Lowville. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Croghan. A calling hour will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Raymond Pleskach of Port Leyden; an older son, and daughter-in-law, Frank and Deb Susice; a grandson, great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeaceased by her husband, Edward G. Schack who died on April 29, 1989; brothers and sisters, Thomas, John, Peter, Virginia, Andrew, Mable, John A., Alexander, Lena Intorcia, Rose Sabastino, and Margaret.
Olive was born on March 19, 1925 in Gouverneur, NY, a daughter of the late Peter and Elllen Barcomb Susice. She attended Carthage and Gouverneur Schools. She came to live in the Lowville area. On May 9, 1970, she married Edward G. Schack at St. Peter’s Church in Lowville. Mrs. Schack moved to Lyons Falls in August, 2008.
She was a past member of the Lowville American Legion Auxiliary for many years, where she loved to attend the dinners and dances with her daughter.
She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sewing and loves cats.
