Vincent G. Montroy, 92, of Ogdensburg, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014.
Calling hours will be Saturday, August 30th from noon – 1:00 pm at Allen-Nichols Funeral Home. A funeral mass will follow at Notre Dame Church at 2pm. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery with full military honors.
Vincent is survived by daughters Lynda (Dean) MacMillan, Cardinal, Ontario, Sharon (Garry) Lewis, Finch Ontario, Kimberly (Michael) Smith, Duluth, GA, a sister Theresa Ploof, Burlington, VT. A brother, Francis (Kate) Montroy, West Parishville, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by 1 sister, Barbara (Carl) Bailey of Waddington, and 2 brothers, Raymond Montroy and Anthony Montroy.
Vincent was born on November 11, 1929 in Ogdensburg, son of Francis and Irene (Ladouceur) Montroy. He married Beverly VanKoert on January 4, 1947 at the Notre Dame Church. She predeceased him Feb. 5, 1982.
Vincent worked as a material handler at Standard Shade Roller, retiring in 1983.
He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the European and Middle East Campaign.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing cards, daily walks, and picnics.
Vincent was a member of the Notre Dame Church, and the Ogdensburg Senior Citizens Club.
