MASSENA — State police on Wednesday charged Kara L. LaPointe, 30, of 6 Cornell Ave., Apt. B, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors.
Troopers said that during a traffic stop at 10:18 p.m. on Park Street for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign and failure to signal while turning, Ms. LaPointe, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to possess approximately 1.2 grams of heroin. She was issued appearance tickets for Village Court.
The operator of the vehicle, Tammy L. Wray, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Troopers said Ms. Wray cited with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to signal and failure to yield the right of way, answerable in Village Court.
