DWI - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Lawrence M. Herzberg, 55, of Parishville with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for speeding and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop at 1:51 p.m. Saturday on Route 37 in the town of Massena. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication in the state.

DWI - HELENA - Massena-based state police charged William A. Smith, 55, of North Bangor with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for failure to keep right and operation of a vehicle with inadequate lights following a traffic stop at 8:40 p.m. Saturday on County Route 55 in the town of Brasher. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent of higher is considered proof of intoxication in the state.

DWI - WADDINGTON - Massena-based state police charged Kyle W. Whalen, 24, of Chase Mills with driving while intoxicated - refusal to take a breath test and unlawful possession of marijuana and ticketed him for an equipment violation for having an inadequate exhaust following a traffic stop at 9:43 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in the village of Waddington.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION ALCOHOL - CANTON - Canton-based state police charged Mateo Vagas, 18, of Canton with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person less than 21 at 2:55 p.m. Saturday on County Route 27 in the town of Canton.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Austin J. Bennett, 18, of St. Regis Falls with petit larceny and third-degree criminal trespass after responding to a trespassing complaint at 7:13 p.m. Saturday from the town of Fort Covington. Troopers said the arrest was made approximately an hour later on Donovan Road in the town of Fort Covington.
