WATERTOWN — Kira Kolb scored the winning goal on a penalty kick seven minutes into overtime to lift the Watertown girls soccer team to a 1-0 victory in the championship game of the Cyclone Booster Club Tournament on Saturday at Watertown High School.
Goalie Stacia Wallace turned away eight shots for the Cyclones (2-0).
“Our defense played amazing, so that was fun,” Watertown coach Mike VanNostrand said.
VanNostrand credited defenders Nicole Gilbert, Katie Hanlin, Sarah Miles and Porsha Gathers-Grosset. Auburn had scored eight goals versus Camden the day before.
Kolb was named the tournament MVP, while Olivia Miles and Gilbert were also selected to the all-tournament team for Watertown.
Ally Nicolosi made eight saves for Auburn (1-1).
LOWVILLE 5, CANTON 0
Selena Beller scored two goals and Kelsey Sammon totaled a goal and two assists as the Red Raiders prevailed in the championship game of the Lewis County Stop DWI Tournament in Lowville.
Goalkeeper Alexis Bach made two saves for Lowville (2-0). Vera Freda and McKailey Lyndaker tallied a goal each for the Red Raiders.
Katie Clemmer finished with 15 saves for Canton (1-1).
SOUTH LEWIS 3, HERMON-DEKALB 1
Reegan Domagala and Jenna Rogers each registered one goal and one assist as the Falcons won the consolation game of the Lowville Tournament.
Jaedyn Ossont also scored for South Lewis (1-1) and Drianna Crofoot made two saves.
Destiny Kerr scored for the Demons (0-2).
POLAND 3, IHC 2
Mikayla Blumenstock provided a goal and an assist as the Tornadoes (2-0) won in the second round of the Chazy tournament.
Skylar Short made 16 saves for Immaculate Heart Central (0-2).
NOTTINGHAM 4, INDIAN RIVER 0
Ismet Suljic generated three consecutive goals to help power the Bulldogs to victory in the Cyclone Booster Club Tournament at Watertown High School.
Jean-Claude Rukundo also scored for Nottingham (2-0).
POTSDAM 5, CARTHAGE 1
Pat Normandin talled a goal and an assist as the Sandstoners (1-1) took the consolation game of the General Brown tournament in Dexter.
John Hager supplied a goal for Carthage (0-2).
WATERTOWN 6, CORCORAN 0
Tyrell Thomas scored three goals to spark the Cyclones (1-1) in the second round of the Cyclone Booster Club tournament.
Taylor and Thomas made the All-Tournament team, along with Kyle Smith of Indian River and Ismet Suljic and Jerome Ntakirutimana of Nottingham.
WESTHILL 2, GENERAL BROWN 0
Jack Miller and Michael Robinson each scored to help the Warriors blank the Lions in the championship game of the General Brown tournament at Dexter.
Robinson was named offensive MVP and Brian Woodhouse named to the all-tournament team for Westhill (2-0).
Chris Yarnall earned defensive MVP honors, while David Vodicka was selected to the all-tourney team for General Brown (1-1).
OFA 3, LISBON 0
Peyton Lalone scored one goal and assisted on two others as the Blue Devils claimed their own tournament championship with a win over Lisbon (1-1).
Nate Peo and Hayden Woods also scored for OFA (2-0). Jake Sias stopped four shots for the shutout.
MORRISTOWN 3, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 0
Ryan Vollmer scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the Green Rockets past the Flyers (0-2) in the consolation game in Ogdensburg.
Zach Kanaly and Jake VanArnam also scored for Morristown (1-1). Luke King made seven saves for the shutout.
SALMON RIVER 4, ST. LAWRENCE 0
In the consolation game of the Saranac Central Tournament, the Shamrocks scored four second half goals to even their record to 1-1.
Antonio Domino scored two goals for the Shamrocks. Nick Hynes and Brighton Barnes each scored once. Zach Smith made two saves. St. Lawrence Central fell to 0-2.
