MASSENA - Labor Day kicks off the official campaign season for the fall elections, and today’s Solidarity Day parade will feature candidates running for offices from mayor of Massena to governor of New York.

Rob Astorino, the Republican candidate for governor, will be marching with members of IBEW Local 2032.

State Senator Joseph Griffo is a regular at the Solidarity Day parade, and Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell has also announced plans to march in the parade.

Massena Mayor James Hidy and his challenger, Timmy Currier, also plan to march in a parade that kicks off at 11 a.m. on Center Street and winds its way down Main Street to the Springs Park for a post-parade celebration for members of organized labor.
