MASSENA - A Massena man was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment of a leg contusion after he struck a tractor trailer as he was attempting to ride his bicycle across Route 37 at Massena.

Village police said bicyclist David E. Bronson, 67, of 899 state Route 420, Brasher Falls, struck a westbound tractor trailer being operated by Michael P. Audas, 45, of Fulton.

Mr. Bronson, who was wearing a bicycle helmet, was thrown to the pavement after striking the driver’s side front tire on the rig’s tractor as Mr. Audas entered the intersection on a green light.

Police said their investigation into the incident is continuing, and a ticket is pending.

Massena Rescue transported the bicyclist to the hospital following the 4:09 p.m. accident.
