Pedestrian hospitalized in Watertown after being hit by Henderson motorist

WATERTOWN — A city resident was taken to Samaritan Medical Center on Wednesday after being hit by a motorist near the intersection of Coffeen Street, North Meadow Street and the Black River Parkway.

City police said Jack H. Wiley, 20, Boyd Street, was crossing the parkway about 11:30 a.m. on his skateboard at an approved crosswalk when he was hit by a car driven by Linda J. Esben, 70, who was entering the parkway from North Meadow Street.

Mr. Wiley was taken to the hospital by Guilfoyle Ambulance for treatment of upper leg pain, but police said he was conscious at the scene.

Ms. Esben was cited with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
