CANTON — Jody Horwitz will lead a lace scarf knitting workshop from 1 until 3 p.m. on September 13 at The Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) Center.
Workshop participants should have basic knitting skills but should not be intimidated by the project. “This is a great first time lace knitting project. One row of thinking and three rows of boring,” Horwitz said. Horwitz has lived in the north country for 25 years and has been knitting for more than 40 years. She was originally taught by her grandmother and has dabbled in just about every aspect of knitting. She also writes her own patterns, one of which will be the basis for this workshop. Horwitz has taught numerous knitting classes at TAUNY as well as at Liberty Fibers, Madrid, and Linsie Woolsie, and she looks forward to working with knitters in a series of workshops at TAUNY this fall.
The workshop cost is $12 ($10 for TAUNY friends), and participants need to bring their own yarn and needles (see the TAUNY Calendar for specifics). Pre-registration is also required.
